No German School 2/22 - Make-up class in May
Dear Parents,
Today, Boulder High school and many other High Schools in Colorado received a threat of a shooter in their area. Boulder Police has asked people to stay away from the area around the High school in Boulder. Thankfully, nobody got hurt and they have evacuated all the present High School Students to Macky Auditorium at CU and they are safe.
The Boulder Police Department lifted the ordinance “Shelter in Place” and is currently working with the FBI to find out more about the threat. This might take some hours and we might not know for sure by this afternoon. Our school location is close to area.
Due to an abundance of caution, the weather and the threat, the board decided that we will not ask our families to come into Boulder today.
This is the second incident in Boulder in two days. In both cases, the area (west of 28th street/Folsom) has been declared “Shelter in Place”. On Monday, there was an active shooter, but thankfully no one got hurt. It is incomprehensible for me that these situations are part of our daily life. Even if this ends up being a disinformation, we would rather have you be safe at home. We have seen too many incidents in the recent months that were not a disinformation.
We will make-up today’s class on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
We are so sorry for the inconvenience, thank you for your understanding and please stay safe.
