Deutsche Film-Reihe: “Good Bye, Lenin!” November 17, 2019

Bring your friends and family and join us to kick off the German Movie Series with great German motion pictures and film analysis classes at the Boulder German School.

November 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. For this occasion we would like to invite you to an afternoon with the prized 2003 comedy drama “Good Bye Lenin!” from director Wolfgang Becker. We will screen the film at Atonement Lutheran Church on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 3:30 – 6:00 pm.

Dedicated socialist Christiane (Katrin Sass) suffers a heart attack and falls into a coma after seeing her son Alex (Daniel Brühl) arrested during an anti regime protest. She remains comatose through the fall of the Berlin wall and the German Democratic Republic. Feeling guilty for his mother’s condition Alex pulls off an elaborate scheme to keep her in good health. This movie is recommended for mature audiences.

The screening in OT (original tone) with English subtitles is open to all and free but we welcome donations towards our school’s cultural program.

Please register to reserve your spot for the film screening.
